Baron Rivendare Notes
Baron can effortlessly assert control over the map, thanks to his ability to summon skeletons at any structure under your command. When combined with his talent to produce mages instead of warriors, it becomes a recipe for perfect map control. Establishing map control is of paramount significance as it secures resources and prevents the enemy from accessing them.

The remaining slots can be occupied by units from a variety of categories, including Unbound, Cycle, Ranged, Alliance, Squad, Flying, Spell, and Siege. Notably, the Elemental and Fast slots are excluded from the options.
Tirion Fordring Notes
Tyrion is another leader ideal for beginners due to his ability to heal nearby units, enhancing their durability in battles. Additionally, the Gryphon Rider and S.A.F.E. Pilot , both starter units, are part of the Alliance faction, and Tyrion provides them with valuable bonuses when positioned in the correct slot. Opting for Tyrion as your initial leader is a wise choice that you can't go wrong with.

Hogger Army Slots
Hogger boasts 2 slots for beasts and 1 for cycle units, which is advantageous, as most of the S-tier minis belong to the beast category. This makes Hogger an excellent choice for beginners. In the two beast slots, you can equip Harpies and Quilboar , while the cycle slot is well-suited for Defias Bandits . You can also consider placing Quilbor in the cycle slot and using something else in the beast slot, like the Prowler .
The remaining slots can be filled with the following categories: Unbound, Ranged, Fast, Flying, Squad, Beast, and Spell. Notably, Elemental, Tank, and Siege options are unavailable.
Hogger Notes
Hogger excels in Warcraft Rumble due to his high attack, health, and the ability to increase his maximum health over time. He's a durable frontline unit that can soak up tower damage and adapt to different game situations, making him a popular choice among players.

Rend features two bonus slots for Blackrock minis and one dedicated to flying minis. Whelp Eggs and Pyromancer s are excellent choices to occupy those slots, while the third slot is reserved for the legendary Harpies .
The remaining three slots can be filled with units from the following categories: Elemental, Cycle, Tank, Unbound, Ranged, and Squad.
Rend Blackhand Notes
Rend possesses a range of abilities and talents that significantly enhance his effectiveness in the game. Notably, these include abilities that reduce the cost of flying troops like Whelps and Harpies , making him a valuable asset when assembling a formidable flying team. He is considered a good choice for beginners due to his synergy with low-cost flying troops.
Rend proves highly effective against melee units and excels in eliminating squad units. Additionally, he functions as a flying AoE unit, capable of dealing damage to multiple ground-based enemies.

Bloodmage Thalnos has two undead slots and 1 spell slot. As of now, none of the S-tier minions are undead, which is why Thalnos lands in the A-tier. Fortunately, he has a spell slot that can be equipped with Chain Lightning or Blizzard .
The remaining slots can be filled with the following categories: Elemental, Cycle, Tank, Unbound, Squad, Fast, and Undead. Bloodmage Thalnos 's team does not have Siege Damage, Flying, or Ranged slots.
Bloodmage Thalnos Notes
Bloodmage Thalnos is known for his significant AoE (Area of Effect) damage, making him effective at dealing damage to multiple enemy units at once. This makes him valuable in crowd control situations and against groups of enemies.
He also possesses a long-range attack, allowing him to engage enemies from a distance. This gives him an advantage in staying out of harm's way while dealing damage.
However, he is relatively fragile, particularly in PvP scenarios and can easily be taken out by unbound units.
Maiev Shadowsong
Alliance |
Melee Strong vs Ranged units. | AoE Strong vs Squad units |
Stealth Invisible to enemies until it attacks or is damaged. | Unbound Can be played anywhere on the map. |

The other three slots can be filled with the following categories: Cycle, Spell, Tank, Fast, Flying, Siege Damage, and Alliance, excluding Squad, Elemental, and Ranged slots.
Maiev Shadowsong Notes
Maiev excels in Warcraft Rumble due to her stealth abilities, the Enveloping Shadows talent, and her synergy with Alliance slots, making her a valuable addition to your team. Her ability to control the battlefield and catch opponents off guard can be a game-changer in your strategy.
Her playstyle isn't very beginner-friendly because using the stealth mechanic requires skillful timing, which affects her rating.

Sylvanas Windrunner Leader Ability
Windrunner Warchief All Undead and Horde Minis gain 30% movement speed near Sylvanas. |

Sylvanas Windrunner Talents
Black Arrow BEST Pierce through enemies in a line, dealing Elemental damage.
Banshee
’s Wail Scream on Death, Stunning nearby enemies for 3 seconds.
Forsaken Fury Nearby Horde and Undead Minis gain Fury. |
"Black Arrow" is the best option, allowing you to pierce through enemies in a line and deal Elemental damage, making it an excellent crowd control talent, particularly valuable on maps with bridges, narrow tunnels, and passages.
Sylvanas Windrunner Army Slots
"Black Arrow" is the best option, allowing you to pierce through enemies in a line and deal Elemental damage, making it an excellent crowd control talent, particularly valuable on maps with bridges, narrow tunnels, and passages.
Sylvanas has two slots for undead and one Horde slot. Necromancer and Gargoyle are good choices for the first two slots. You can place Stonehoof as a tank in the third slot for anti-air capabilities.
Sylvanas Windrunner Notes
Sylvanas is a versatile leader with many deck options. While she might be expensive at 6 gold, she does spawn a banshee on death, potentially giving you some value back depending on the minions she possesses.
She isn't very beginner-friendly since she requires a tank in front of her or a specific playstyle to excel, making her not recommended as the first leader for beginners.
She performs well in PvP with her split-lane pushing deck, featuring Gargoyle and Necromancer .
Grommash Hellscream
Horde |
Melee Strong vs Ranged units | One-Target Strong vs AoE units |
Tank High health unit. Good at soaking Tower damage | Bloodlust Bloodlusted units gain +33% movement and attack speed |
Grommash Hellscream Leader Ability

Grommash Hellscream Stats

DPS | 169 | Attack Speed | 1.3 |

Grommash Hellscream Talents
Savage Strikes BEST Deal double damage to enemies who are below 50% health.
Bladestorm Gain an AOE bladespin ability that damages all nearby enemies.
Mirror Image Summon two fragile mirror images when entering combat. |
"Savage Strikes" is the best option, dealing double damage to enemies below 50% health. It's somewhat situational, but the additional damage is worthwhile. Alternatively, you could choose "Bladestorm" for crowd control. He's tanky enough to fire if off a few times before dying.
Grommash Hellscream Army Slots
Grom has two Horde slots and a Squad slot. Most of the S tier minis belong to the Horde faction, which works in his favor. You can place a Darkspear Troll and a Stonehoof Tauren in the first two slots. For the third slot, you can equip Harpies .
The other three slots can be filled with the following categories: Unbound, Cycle, Ranged, Fast, Flying, Spell, and Horde, excluding Elemental, Tank, and Siege Damage slots.
Grommash Hellscream Notes
Grommash's ability to provide the "Bloodlust" trait is a significant advantage. This trait grants a 33% bonus to both movement and attack speed to nearby units, making him a valuable asset in enhancing the overall performance of your team.
Grommash's area-of-effect (AoE) talents, such as "Bladestorm," can be instrumental in disrupting opponents and controlling the battlefield. Additionally, Grommash boasts a high health pool, making him capable of effectively soaking up tower damage, which can be crucial in the game.
All of these traits make him a good leader to start with, but it's important to note that he does fall off in
B Tier
Old Murk-Eye
Beast |
Ranged Attacks enemies from a distance. | AoE Strong vs Squad units |
Elemental Deals elemental damage. Strong vs Armored | Fast Fastest moving units |
Old Murk-Eye Leader Ability
March of the Murlocs For 5 seconds after deploying, summon a Murloc Tidehunter for each Gold spent on other minis. |
Old Murk-Eye Stats
Area Damage | 150 | Health | 160 |
DPS | 169 | Attack Speed | 1.6 |
Healing | N/A | Speed | Fast |
Range | 6.5 |
Old Murk-Eye Talents
Tip of the Spear Tidehunters spawn at Old Murk Eye’s location instead.
Marathon Of The Murlocs BEST March of the Murlocs lasts an additional 5 seconds longer after deploying.
Electric Eels Attacks briefly Stun enemies. |
"Marathon of the Murlocs" is the top choice, as it extends the duration of March of the Murlocs by an additional 5 seconds after deploying. This allows you more time to deploy minis, making it somewhat easier to maximize his ability.
Old Murk-Eye Army Slots
Murk has 2 slots for beasts and 1 slot for a tank. Harpies make a good equip for one of the beast slots, and you can equip the Gnoll Brute in the other one. For the tank slot, you can place either the prowler or footmen, depending on your playstyle.
The three slots can be upgraded from the following categories: Elemental, Unbound, Cycle, Fast, Beast, Spell, Siege, and Flying, excluding Ranged and Squad slots.
Old Murk-Eye Notes
Old Murk-Eye is a strong choice in Warcraft Rumble due to his ranged AoE damage, the support he brings with his Tidehunter entourage, and the strategic advantage of high moving speed.
His playstyle takes a bit of getting used to since it requires precise timing. Old Murk certainly is challenging for beginners to play, so we've placed him in the B-tier.
Sneed
Horde |
Melee Strong vs Ranged units | AoE Strong vs Squad units |
Armored 50% Physical damage reduction. | Tank High health unit. Good at soaking Tower damage |
Sneed Leader Ability
Sneed
Before Greed Gain 2 Gold when a Siege Damage unit destroys a Tower, captures a Meeting Stone, or opens a Chest. |
Sneed Stats
Area Damage | 360 | Health | 1040 |
DPS | 120 | Attack Speed | 3 |
Healing | N/A | Speed | Medium |
Range | N/A |
Sneed Talents
Mine Is Money, Friend! BEST Gain the Miner trait.
Lead With Greed Gain an additional +2 Gold when Sneed triggers Sneed Before Greed.
Land Grab Gain a level whenever non-passive Gold is earned. |
"Mine Is Money, Friend!" is the best choice, granting the Miner trait, which allows Sneed to act like a kobold, efficiently mining resources and opening chests.
Sneed Army Slots
Sneed has two fixed Horde slots and one Siege slot. Darkspear Troll is a good choice to equip in one of the slots, and Stonehoof Tauren is another great mini for your team. For the Siege slot, you can place the Earth Elemental there.
The remaining slots can be filled with the following categories: Unbound, Cycle, Ranged, Flying, Squad, Horde, Fast, and Spell, excluding Elemental and Tank slots.
Sneed Notes
Sneed can be a strong option due to his tanky nature, siege capabilities, and his ability to soak up damage while pushing objectives. However, his recent nerf (capped levels from Land Grab) and his high cost are unfortunate. He was once a top-tier choice but has now fallen to B-tier. Oh, how the mighty have fallen!
Cairne Bloodhoof
Horde |
Melee Strong vs Ranged units | AoE Strong vs Squad units |
Attack Stun Attack stuns enemies. | Tank High health unit. Good at soaking Tower damage |
Cairne Bloodhoof Ability
Earthen Might Your Horde troops have 20% increased Health. |
Cairne Bloodhoof Stats
Area Damage | 160 | Health | 1700 |
DPS | 64 | Attack Speed | 2.5 |
Healing | N/A | Speed | Medium |
Range | N/A |
Cairne Bloodhoof Talents
Reincarnation BEST After death, Resurrect at 50% health, once.
Plainsrunning Move 50% faster and gain the Fast trait.
Aftershock When Stun expires, affected enemies are Dazed for 5 seconds. |
"Reincarnation" is the superior choice, as it allows for resurrection at 50% health after death, making it a valuable talent. Cairne has two excellent talents in "Reincarnation" and "Plainsrunning." Personally, I would opt for "Reincarnation" if I were using him.
Cairne Bloodhoof Army Slots
Cairne has two Horde slots and 1 ranged slot. Stonehoof Tauren and Darkspear Troll are good choices for the first two slots, while the ranged slot can be occupied by the S.A.F.E. Pilot .
The other three slots can be upgraded from the following categories: Elemental, Cycle, Horde, Fast, Flying, Squad, Siege, and Spell, excluding Tank and Unbound slots.
Cairne Bloodhoof Notes
Cairne is okay-ish with his high health and survivability, but he is quite expensive to deploy and can be countered very easily. His ability makes Horde units a bit bulkier, but having all slots equipped with Horde units wouldn't be the best team-building strategy.
So, I've placed him in the B-tier. He's serviceable, but there are better leaders out there. This could change with the introduction of more powerful Horde minis in the future, but for now, he's just meh.
C Tier
General Drakkisath
Blackrock |
Melee Strong vs Ranged units. | One-Target Strong vs AoE units |
Tank High health unit. Good at soaking Tower damage | Elemental Deals elemental damage. Strong vs Armored |
Resistant Takes 50% less Elemental damage. |
General Drakkisath Leader Ability
Banner of Flame Nearby enemies take 50% more Elemental damage. Eats Ragnar’Os for breakfast. |
General Drakkisath Stats
Damage | 300 | Health | 1400 |
DPS | 166.7 | Attack Speed | 1.8 |
Percentage Damage | N/A | Speed | Slow |
General Drakkisath Talents
Chromatic Scales BEST Grants nearby allies the Resistant trait.
Piercing Blows Attacks pierce through enemies in a line.
Lasting Legacy On death, drop a banner. Nearby enemies take 50% additional Elemental damage. Lasts 10 seconds. |
"Chromatic Scales" is the best choice, as it grants nearby allies the Resistant trait, which is highly effective when facing elemental damage.
General Drakkisath Army Slots
Drakk has two Blackrock slots and 1 elemental slot. Whelp eggs make a good equip, and the S.A.F.E. Pilot is also a solid choice.
The other three slots can be filled with the following options: Flying, Cycle, Ranged, Unbound, Spell, Blackrock, and Fast. The team does not have Siege Damage, Tank, or Squad units.
General Drakkisath Notes
Drak is great against elemental decks because he provides elemental resistance to his allies. If you're having trouble with a specific elemental stage, he is the go-to leader for that.
However, he is not the best leader for beginners because his exceptional strength lies in his specific ability. His ability is advantageous for him since he deals elemental damage, but it can restrict your deck-building options if you want other units to benefit from it.
Jaina Proudmoore
Alliance |
Ranged Attacks enemies from a distance. | One-Target Strong vs AoE units |
Frost Frost damage slows enemy movement and attack speed. | Elemental Deals elemental damage. Strong vs Armored |
Jaina Proudmoore Ability
Arcane Brilliance Increases the Level of your Spells by 3 while Jaina is in play. |
Jaina Proudmoore Stats
Damage | 190 | Health | 250 |
DPS | 118.7 | Attack Speed | 1.6 |
Healing | N/A | Speed | ? |
Range | 7 |
Jaina Proudmoore Talents
Blink BEST Periodically teleport away from attackers.
Clearcasting Spells cost 1 less (but no less than 1) if played immediately after Jaina.
Flurry Frostbolts burst on impact, Frosting enemies near the target. |
"Blink" is the best option, as it periodically teleports Jaina away from attackers, providing her with a form of survivability, which is important due to her squishy nature.
Jaina Proudmoore Army Slots
Jaina has 2 Alliance slots and 1 spell slot. Defias Bandits and the S.A.F.E. Pilot are top choices for the Alliance slots, while Blizzard is a guaranteed equip for the spell slot.
The other three slots can be filled with the following options: Elemental, Unbound, Tank, Squad, Alliance, Flying, Siege Damage, excluding Ranged, Cycle, and Fast slots.
Jaina Proudmoore Notes
Jaina is an okay leader, but to maximize her ability, you have to restrict your deck building, and she has to be in play, which can be challenging in PvP. She's also quite squishy, so she tends to get taken out by backline killers like Quilboar and the Pilot.
Furthermore, not many armored minis are in the meta, so her elemental damage isn't always necessary.
For PvE content, she does have stages where she shines, but there are better all-rounders out there.
D Tier
Charlga Razorflank
Beast |
Ranged Attacks enemies from a distance. | One-Target Strong vs AoE units |
Attack Root Attack roots enemies. | Bombard Attacks ground enemies only. |
Cycle 2 cost or less for more Mini plays! | Percent Damage Deals a percentage of the target's health in damage. |
Charlga Razorflank Leader Ability
Spirit Tangle Minis in your hand share the same cost. |
Charlga Razorflank Stats
Damage | 6 | Health | 320 |
DPS | 24 | Attack Speed | 1.7 |
Percentage Damage | 8% | Speed | ? |
Charlga Razorflank Talents
Cavernous Mists BEST Deploy cost reduced by 1.
Nature’s Grasp Root two additional nearby targets, but deal half damage.
Spirit Passage Minis played for 5 Gold gain a level and deploy in Stealth. |
"Cavernous Mists" is the top choice, as it reduces the deploy cost by 1, which synergizes well with her ability.
Charlga Razorflank Army Slots
Charlga has two beast slots and one fast slot. Harpies and Quilboar are good choices for the beast slots. For the fast slot, you can equip a Huntress .
The other slots can be filled with the following options: Elemental, Cycle, Unbound, Tank, Flying, Ranged, Spell, and Beast, excluding Siege Damage and Squad slots.
Charlga Razorflank Notes
Charlga is NOT beginner-friendly. Do not choose her as your first leader, as her ability can be confusing to grasp.
In essence, she can have explosive starts but tends to fall off afterward. If you haven't won already by then, you might find yourself in a difficult situation.
She could work really well with a properly tuned deck, but the restrictions and the skill required to play the deck can be quite overwhelming.
